加工強化也稱冷作硬化,就是鋁板在再結晶溫度以下冷變形加工如鑄造、壓延、拉拔、拉伸等,冷變形時,鋁板內部位錯密度增大,且彼此纏結并構成胞狀結構,阻止位錯運動。

在一般鋁板中固溶強化較常用的合金元素是銅、鎂、錳、鋅、硅、鎳等元素。一般鋁板的合金化都構成有限的固溶體,如Al-Cu,Al-Mg,Al-Zn,Al-Si,Al-Mn等二元合金均構成有限固溶體,而且都有較大的極限溶解度能起較大的固溶強化效果。

通過強化的鋁板,其硬度功能都會得到顯著提升,但是其硬度無法一向提升下去;當達到硬度上限的時分,不管何種辦法,都無法繼續進步鋁板的硬度,只能選擇基礎硬度就更高的牌號。
